VAN HALEN Radiohead are chipping in for Haiti, with $572,754 raised during a Los Angeles benefit Sunday night. The group’s impromptu performance at the Henry Fonda Theater was attended by fans who bid on auctioned tickets, with the final closing minimum bid going for $475. All proceeds went to Oxfam’s efforts in Haiti. The evening found the band rocking through familiar favorites, but also included the debut of a new track titled “Lotus Flower.” Singer Thom Yorke had performed the track on stage during solo shows, but never with the full Radiohead lineup. Hope for Haiti = 61 million -------BREAK--------- Blink-182 fans will wait at least another year for new music. Guitarist Tom DeLonge tells Billboard.com that even though the group are working on new music, Angels & Airwaves will be the focus for at least part of this year. The band’s third release, “Love,” arrives as a free digital download February 14th. DeLonge self-financed the collection, but hopes to recoup his money through sponsorships, touring, merchandise sales, premium downloads, and by selling a deluxe edition of “Love” with 30 minutes of bonus material. DeLonge says, “We’re redefining the music business and I honestly think we’re going to be 10 times bigger because of it.” “Love” will be available for free on the band’s website, while the deluxe version will be sold via online retailers. In addition, the music will be tied to a “Love” movie that’s due in theaters later this year. As for Blink-182, DeLonge confirms that recording will start soon and the band are talking with their label about a 2011 release. ANGELS AND AIRWAVES - Through a unique collaboration between Marvel Studios and Columbia Records, AC/DC's music will be featured in Marvel Studios' "Iron Man 2", the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster film. In addition, Columbia Records will release the album "AC/DC: Iron Man 2" on Monday, April 19, 2010. "AC/DC: Iron Man 2" features 15 classic AC/DC songs selected from ten of the band's studio albums, ranging from 1976 to 2008. The complete track listing can be found below.
