Weezer Says Hurley Character, Not Hurley Brand, An Inspiration Weezer’s Brian Bell is clearing up speculation that the band’s upcoming “Hurley” album was named as such because of a sponsorship deal with the Hurley company. Bell says in a posting, quote “Recently I did an interview in Denver, where I was asked why we called the album ‘Hurley.’ I mistakenly said that Hurley funded the album. I later found out that it wasn’t true at all. Weezer paid for every penny of this recording.” The guitarist added that the reason the record is called “Hurley” is because of actor Jorge Garcia, who graces the cover and portrayed the character “Hurley” on TV’s Lost. “Hurley” arrives September 14th, and Bell concludes that the group received no money for giving it that title.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS front man Scott Weiland fell off the stage during the opening number, "Crackerman", of the band's set last night at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to one person who attended the show, "[Scott] was fine and the show continued. As you can tell he didn't really miss a note after he fell."
