94XPOSED TUESDAY MARCH 29TH

2005, Neil Young was treated for a brain aneurysm at a New York hospital. Doctors expected the 59-year-old to make a full recovery. The aneurysm was discovered when Young’s vision became blurred after attending the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the previous month. The morning of his operation Neil spent a few hours in studio recording parts of a new album before going in for the surgery. Even when facing death Neil was still recording.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was recently asked if he thought rock and roll was dead. It's not the smartest question to ask a member of two rock titans – Nirvana and the Foos. Grohl Replied, "'Dude, ask the 130,000 people who are coming to see us at England's Milton Keynes Bowl in July. Ask the 2,000 people who were drinking and having the night of their life at South by Southwest," Grohl recounted to Billboard.com. He and his band recently hit up SXSW to promote the new documentary about the band, Back and Forth, and their forthcoming album, Wasting Light. "Just because rock 'n' roll isn't #1 in the commercial mainstream doesn't mean it's gone," he said. "It doesn't mean it's dead. All I know is what rock 'n' roll means to me. It's this living, breathing thing that you can see in someone's eye." The Foo Fighters release Wasting Light on April 12th!

Seether guitarist Troy McLawhorn says he didn't want to quit the band but he had no choice due to "personal friction" with one of the other members. The South African post-grunge outfit announced McLawhorn's decision at the beginning of this month but original statements were neutral, simply referring to "other interests." But now he's has made a more forthcoming statement explaining: "I won't be at any of the upcoming Seether shows because I have put in my notice that I'm leaving the band. I wish I could stay – but because of personal friction with another member I have to leave for my own happiness. I hope everyone understands." Seether’s new album Hold On to Strings Better Left to Fray is due out in May. The band describe it as “the heaviest thing we’ve ever done” and say they’ve decided to remain a three-piece act for the foreseeable future.

GUNS AND ROSES - CHINESE DEMOCRACY

Best Buy is now practically giving Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" album away. As the exclusive U.S. retailer for "Democracy," Best Buy is offering a special deal on copies of the CD; you can now purchase the album via BestBuy.com for just $1.99. The retailer reportedly paid $14 million for 1.6 million copies of the album, according to Hits; to date, "Democracy" has sold just 614,000 copies in the U.S., based on Nielsen SoundScan reports. I'm so glad we waited 14 years for that album. Totally worth the wait. Please note the dripping sarcasm!!
