Alice In Chains will continue to tour this fall in support of Black Gives Way To Blue, topping a bill of three heavyweight bands that also includes Deftones and Mastodon. The BlackDiamondSkye tour has been teased online for weeks through a cryptic video that mashed up music from all three bands. The roadshow launches on September 16 at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, IL. Tickets go on sale in select markets beginning May 15 at blackdiamondskye.com and LiveNation.com

A new feature documentary on The Doors, American Masters: When You’re Strange, a film about The Doors, will premiere nationally on Wednesday, May 12 at 9 p.m. on PBS. The film is written and directed by Tom DiCillo and narrated by Johnny Depp and it features previously unseen footage of the band.

Nine Inch Nails now have a title for their tour farewell video. “NIN: [after all is said and done]” will be offered in multiple formats in a not-for-profit basis. The group had hoped to shoot their final “Wave Goodbye Tour” shows, but couldn’t come to an agreement with their label. However, a group of tech savvy fans united on their own and formed A Tiny Little Dot with the intent of making a professional video of their own. The editors, audio engineers, color correctors, web designers, Blu-ray authors, content creators, artists and technical consultants volunteered their time to create the 1080p High Definition, 5.1 Surround Sound tour document. The final product will be available to fans as high-quality downloads to professionally packaged deluxe Blu-Ray and DVD sets. There will also be a wide array of still-to-be-determined bonus content. Drummer Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeppelin's John, is planning a multimedia extravaganza tour which will seek to tell the entire Zep story from beginning to end. Plans are at an early stage for Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience, but it's thought he'll gather a group of musicians to recreate the band's sound while elaborate video presentations provide historical narrative to the iconic outfit's history. His plans come just months after he realised a long-held ambition to perform the Moby Dick drum solo alongside his father, who died in 1980, using modern multimedia techniques. And the move may clash with plans to release an album recorded with Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian (Kiss, Alice Cooper, Dream Theater.)
