U2’s tour is winding down, but their “claw” will live beyond the final performance. Billboard.biz reports that the band intend to sell off three of the full four-legged set pieces as stand-alone venues. Tour director Craig Evans says the group are negotiating to have the sets sent to different places around the world and installed as permanent venues. The final U2 show takes place July 30th in Moncton, New Brunswick. Reports suggest The Claw could be used as part of the London Olympics opening ceremony next year.

Mark Foster knows his way around a hook, as was first evidenced during his time as a jingle writer and later with the breakout single “Pumped Up Kicks” from his band Foster The People. And Foster also lent his skills upon request from one of rock’s biggest names. The singer tells Spinner.com, “I just wrote a song with Bono that’s for the ‘Spider-Man’ musical. I was in the studio with a producer called Alex The Kid and we were just songwriting together. We worked on this tune and it turned out it was a Bono/The Edge song that I wrote verses for.” Foster says he’s yet to meet Bono, but hopes to someday and also hopes that his contribution opens the door for future opportunities.
