Slash is feeling satisfied after an eventful weekend as part of the Sunset Strip Music Festival. The guitar great was this year’s honoree for the festival, which kicked off Thursday night with a special tribute at the House Of Blues. Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx, Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, and Motorhead’s Lemmy were among those who spoke about the musician before Slash himself took the stage. He explained, “Picking up the guitar for the first time in West Hollywood, then learning how to play in West Hollywood, starting a band in West Hollywood, and making it in West Hollywood. Getting a record deal at Geffen on Sunset which was the same place my dad used to work when I was a kid. So I never left here. Everything in my life that is of any importance started in West Hollywood, and the Sunset Strip is like, such a part of me.” Slash closed out the festival Saturday by performing with Myles Kennedy and Fergie.

Guns N' Roses' performance at Britain's Reading Festival on Friday night ended in chaos after the band took to the stage an hour late and organizers were forced to cut the sound to stop them playing.

The tardy rockers didn't begin their set until more than an hour after their scheduled start time, infuriating festival bosses who were given strict instructions from police and local officials to ensure the band didn't break its 11:30 p.m. curfew.

The band played the majority of their set but they were forced off during their rendition of Paradise City when they began to play and then realized all their instruments had been switched off.

Frontman Axl Rose attempted to carry on by singing through a megaphone, but eventually gave up and walked off stage with his bandmates.
