Shinedown plan on giving their fans something truly special with their next live release. The band had already shot their "Carnival Of Madness" tour performance for a DVD earlier this year, but are now planning to add in extra performances from their acoustic "Anything & Everything" trek. Singer Brent Smith told The Pulse Of Radio, "We’re gonna give both shows at the same time in one package, so you’ll have the electric show and you’ll also get the acoustic show. And there will be, you know, another disc involved in that which is just gonna be the last two-and-a-half years, all the behind-the-scenes footage and all the flipcam stuff." Smith was editing the "Carnival Of Madness" footage earlier this fall. No release date or title has been revealed for the CD/DVD collection.

AGAINST ME - THRASH UNREAL

Against Me! are now speaking about the recent tour cancellation and revealing that it was "the culmination of circumstances [that] were engulfing us." Singer Tom Gabel says in a blog posting, "We had to take some time off from touring to go home and sort things out. On a related note, after almost a five-year relationship, we are leaving Sire/Warner." The band expressed their gratitude to the label and it didn’t seem like an acrimonious split. Gabel, who apologized for the lost dates, says the band will return to the road for a series of radio station holiday festivals next month, but that Jay Weinberg will be sitting in on drums. The group will also play January shows with Fences and Cheap Girls before joining Dropkick Murphys for their annual month-long St. Patrick’s Day trek.

Scott Smith
February 13, 1955 – November 30, 2000

Scott Smith is best remembered as the original bassist for the Canadian rock band, Loverboy who had a string of hits during the ’80s. Learning to play the guitar as a child, Smith switched over to bass just as he was hitting his teen years. While in college in 1980, he was asked to join Loverboy. The band’s debut self titled album was a hit, selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. alone and helping the band land tours with such superstar acts as Journey, ZZ Top, and Cheap Trick. The band released a series of hit singles that included "Working For The Weekend," "Turn Me Loose," and "The Kid Is Hot Tonight." The band would become synonomous with ’80s arena rock. The band broke up in the late ’80s, but reunited in 1991. On November 30, 2000, Scott Smith lost his life at sea after being swept overboard by an unexpected wave while sailing with friends off the coast of San Francisco. He was 45 years old.
