LIVE - I ALONE

In a newsletter out to fans earlier this week, former Live front man Ed Kowalczyk announced dates for the 2011 Open Wings Broken Strings Tour with Tonic lead singer Emerson Hart and Sixpense None the Richer singer Leigh Nash.  A fan favorite tour among Kowalczyk's fans, the tour is now in it's third year.  Previous year's tours included Everclear lead singer Art Alexakis, who's replaced by Emerson Hart for the 2011 version of the tour. Ed has already released one solo effort since the breakup of "Live" and according to rumours, he will be releasing a second solo project next year!

Disturbed’s David Draiman reveals that a misplaced decimal led to his absence from touring earlier this fall. The vocalist tells Metal Hammer magazine, “I’d been having allergy shot therapy, and in the middle of the touring cycle an injection that was supposed to be administered at 0.05 of a particular concentration was injected at 0.5 – 10 times more than I was supposed to get. I had severe anaphylactic shock – airwaves constricted, blood pressure plummeting. I was on oxygen for hours and still my blood pressure was way, way low.” As a result, the residual inflammation that came from the allergic reaction meant that he couldn’t heal in time for the steady stream of upcoming dates and his vocal chords were in bad shape, so rather than risk permanent damage, the band bowed out of two weeks of shows.

BON JOVI - RUNAWAY

Bon Jovi walked past the closed doors of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame to collect the biggest box office cheque in the 2010 concert industry. The New Jersey rockers had the #1 tour of the year, according to figures released Tuesday by Pollstar magazine. The only act to crack the $200 million mark, Bon Jovi rocked and rolled their way to $201.1 million gross in ticket sales, ahead of second-place AC/DC, who came in at $177 million. U2, Lady Gaga and Metallica rounded out the top 5.
