Slash has paid his respects to Hollywood star Dennis Hopper who died this morning (May 29) aged 74, after battling prostate cancer.  The ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist paid tribute to the legendary film star, who was best known for his famous roles in Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet, on his Twitter page. He wrote: "You take the great ones for granted until they're gone. RIP Dennis Hopper."  Hopper was surrounded by friends and family at his home in the Los Angeles beach community of Venice. His manager announced in October 2009 that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was last seen in public in March when he was honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

Steven Tyler is to have his eagerly anticipated autobiography published by Ecco in November.To be titled Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?, Ecco (an imprint of HarpeCollins) reportedly paid the Aerosmith frontman $2 million for the rights. Says the frontman of people can expect from the book: “This is not just my take — this is the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse’s lips”. Tyler will, of course, be onstage with Aerosmith at the Download Festival next month. They headline the event at Donington on June 12.

Papa Roach are preparing to release their new album, entitled "Time For Annihilation" on August 31st. The album will be released on indie label Eleven Seven Music. The album's first single, a track called “Kick in the Teeth,” is expected to debut in the coming weeks. The album will feature only five new songs, the rest of the album be comprised of live performances from the band. Despite the mixed nature of the songs, Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix says the album flows together very nicely and he's proud of the result.

Clint Eastwood, the most badass Hollywood cowboy outside of John Wayne is celebrating his 80th Birthday today! Tonight at his Birthday party he’ll be sitting at his table wondering if his bladder will hold long enough to get through dinner and he’ll say to himself, “Its times like these when you have to ask yourself, Do you feel Lucky? Well, Do I Punk?” Happy 80th to Clint!
